They will use all fire support in Checkpoint mode in the traditional manner, as in a bot Commander and Observer doing it. I think this is why you sometimes get hit with a molotov from over 3 buildings by a bot which had no way of seeing you directly. They won't shoot at you at all beyond that distance.īots are supposed to have a limited concept of communication, they are divided up into small squads, if one member of a squad sees you they will report it to the others so they all know where you are. Bots have a hard visibility range cap of 50m which makes ranged combat rather boring. Sometimes bots will magdump the wall next to you in CQB, others they will nail you at 40m with one shot from the hip with an MG3 while running. INSURGENCY MESSAGE BOARDS ANGRY BOTS PCOn console and PC official servers the difficulty can't be changed (aside from playing Hardcore mode which is more difficult), but bot ability does feel fairly inconsistent. They always hide in the same spots (cover actors) and spawn in the same places so you can figure out where they are going to be. That said on Checkpoint and Hardcore Checkpoint they can get quite predicable once you learn the maps. Generally the AI is not that challenging individually, the way they beat you is usually by outnumbering you. ![]()
